Yesterday when I picked Sam up from his "3rd to the last day of school" (ha), we went through the normal routine of talking through his day. It went a bit like this:
Me: Hey buddy! I missed you today! How did school go?
Sam: Well, it was okay. Jack had to leave early, and Ben pushed me down during recess.
Me: I'm so sorry about that. Bummer.
Sam: And then Gracie told me she doesn't want to marry me any more. She's gonna marry some guy from California.
Me: Really? Wow, that's awful! What's his name?
Sam: Oh, I don't really remember. I told her I'd be a good husband. All she'd have to do is relax. I'd take care of everything.
Me: She's really going to miss out then. You will make a great husband.
Sam: Yeah, I'm pretty sad.
The tenderness of his heart, the innocence of kindergarten. Precious.

Makes me smile and feel sad all at the same time. I love that little boy of yours!
I love those conversations!
All she'd have to do is relax...
'Cause that's what his mom does, right? That so funny!
(Sorry about my last comment... That was me not paying attention.)
Do you think that qualifies as his first broken heart? Poor little Sam. What a sweet conversation.
So SWEET!
How fun. You will get a lot of those next year.
Love your concert. I am so glad you had fun. You deserve a great night with your man.
I'm with you on this...
